 Christmas 1983 was the happiest time I ever had where the Family were still complete. Had celebrated with my beloved Father for the last time he was on earth.  Feb. 1991 he  suddenly passed away and that was the second time seeing him in coffin after 12 years of absence. I came home quite late.  And the last Christmas I spent there was in the year 1993, and this year  I will be there to share with the rest of my Family the joyous of this season....."life goes on".....and we will be there on his grave on this Christmas Day.

I wanted you to know that I was really touched, in my heart, after reading your personal story, and i couldn't help but cry. Life, my dear bambi, is very precious and given the ability to share it with family--for the good--despite the trials and tribulations that God gives us in our life, is what really what counts. Family, is the most important thing in our lives, because, my dear, friends come and go, so does health and physical beauty. But family, with the blessings of the good Lord who provides for us always, is always there for you. They are our rock that keeps us aground. There for us through thick or thin. Since I've been 28 years away, had celebrated Christmas in Bohol with my Family 2x only. Oftentimes home since the year 2000 due to my old Mama's physical condition (getting old and sickly). Last time was there Nov.2005 - Dec. 15, 2005 had stayed short before X'mas because work  has priority.  Well, anyway you could be there in the midst of Summertime but..it is always Christmas for us "giving and sharing",you know it.  Last Feb.2006 we had our 2 weeks vacation in Thailand, i like the nice/beautiful country but I was just thinking and saying myself so with my husband...normally in 2 and half hours we are home.

Hope to meet you there.....few days after New Year we will be leaving to earn again for the next vacation.

Good news  to know that you will be there too....Glen is also there.  For sure, both of you knows that Sigbin is planning to set an EB for TB members who are on this time on vacation.  Barbaro is arriving tentatively on the 19th of Dec.2007, yours truly on the 15th and probably there could be a surprise guests (EL Mundo, the reporter) any others who might come anytime they wanted to. Well, lets go caroling why not? I had enough experienced during my childhood days.

Two years ago I never went home December 2005, the immigration in Manila was processing my passport for permanent residence at that time there was a fire at the INS building in Manila.
December, 12th, 2005 my father gave up his fight with lymphoma cancer, and 0n Dec, 21st, my grandmother also passed on.
I was not able to fly home to be with the family during either funeral has my passport was in the Manila fire and no where at that time to have been found.
I was mad, furious and cussing, as to why this would happen to me?

Maybe it was better I was not there when my dad, and grandmother passed away even tho I am close to both of them. I think it best to remember the times last spent together when they were alive and kicking.

I can not say that I have had many Christmas's when family is not all present, and I am aware of many persons suffering trials in life during the holidays.
Despite all the negative and sadness often that surrounds us during the holidays I know I always try to make the best of it work out to be a really nice time. For many years I have made baked Xmas cookies with American recipe ingredients and my friends and family love them here.
I miss the real smell of real pine Christmas tree's from back home and the malls decorations and the people hustling and bustling. I see plenty persons in the malls here but no one is buying, the life is really hard here and anyone who has the chance to go outside and experience life can see the difference.
Here they have the big beautiful lanterns to hang outside the homes but in America we do not have that.
You have the warm weather to have fun family gatherings filled with mountains of activity here. We are freezing cold and doing our best to stay warm during that time of the year.
Relatives here are happy that their family loved one's come home from oversea's and ask right away always ask "Did you bring my pasalabom he he he!"
I use to think it means did you bring my bottle of booze so I could pas out of course I was still not so familiar with the dialect back then. He he he he!
I want my mother to come here for her first time but she is scared because of the rebels here and NPA.
I tell her always not to worry that I and my family will look out for her as well as other's.
Hospitality is always the best gift to give to anyone.

The grocery stores is where most of the buying is being done so that is why they do not close their door's are you woman not aware of the malls activities that keep many off the streets in an air conditioned building and some of these events often go on until late.
I see people passing from one end of the mall to the other as if a thorough fare (shortcut).
Even the offices will tell me that they wish the other department stores would pick up better on business.
I wish they would also so that more persons can be hired but maybe your both abroad and not aware of prices that are sky rocketing daily also.
The minimum wage is still being fought here and it is not enough rice is P27.00-P30.00 per kilo most meats are P230 per kilo and you sure can not get enough to barely get a balanced meal 3x daily on the table.

Precious, is it just me or is it really you?  You seem to have negative take on things in Bohol and Pinoy as a whole.  First you said there are lots of people in the mall and NO ONE is buying!  So amazing you have enough precious time to spare to see what and what not people are buying!  Not so long ago we only had Alturas as our big store there then came BQ, Marcela, other big stores I don't know anymore then this place ICM.  Do you think the owners are stupid enough to venture into this kind of business without going through feasibility studies?  And if the feasibility study proved the owners wrong after year or years of business, do you think they would just keep the stores open just for the heck of it - like maybe a tourist destination?  Hmmm, I am just wondering...

On ms da binsi's photograph which you labelled "a boring leafless trees that does not show off yourself and your beauty". really, you didn't see the beauty?  Have you heard of the word ART?  I bet you my life if somebody put Picasso's name in it, it's worth more than - I'd rather not say what.  We all appreciate her artistic skill and her courage to show her inner beauty through her work and if you do not see that, too bad!

Who are you to dictate what anyone can do in this forum? Excuse me, but Ate Belle, has worked and passionately contributed to the growth of this forum, her pictures and her art has drawn many attention. She is an artist. She captures the soul of her surroundings and graciously shares it with us here in Tubag Bohol. We are fortunate enough that she is willing to take the time to do that for us, and I personally adore her, she's my Tita.

Ambot ba Belle but na notice daw sa akong husband na when I am decorating cake, I am happy and smiling!  Wala pa ko sukad ka decorate ug cake na sad ko.  And if at times na sad ko and I need to decorate a cake, kinahanglan walaon sa jud ang sadness otherwise dili ko ka emote. I heard mga painters like you and da vinci (hehehe) even if you are sad, maka communicate mo sa inyong emotions thru your work.  Ayaw lang pod palabi ha na pareho na dayon da vinci na putlan iyang ears then i paint dayon nya iyang self looking at the mirror kay mudagan nko ana. hahahah

First off apologies to the artist, as I was not aware she was sharing her own works.
You took what I had said wrong when I said boring leaves as it would be nice to see who we are talking with as it is interesting and nice to see new people.
I thought she was the kind of person who is ashamed to show herself off. It was not to be taken either defensively or as an insult. Appreciate the pictures you showed, and the cat looks totally loved and spoiled.

Yes I am some what of an artist (not a pro). I enjoy watercolors scenes captured from off of the west coast near to fishing canneries where we process seafoods straight from the ocean.
Where the boats and their fishing nets are tethered into their moorings along side their (slips) berths.

Where did you learn your lovely talents ms. da binsi here in Philippines or at community arts classes offered abroad? My father tried oils and loved it but his passion was watercolors as well.
I also was into ceramics and glazing and into inventing different combination of different colors for kiln firing to make my ceramic utensils more appealing.

Other then ceramics and other art's I had taken several photography classes on how to develop negatives and turn them into actual developed pictures.
Yearbook class was an honor to take part in it and design many kinds of different graphics before PC 's became popular.

I am from the west coast near to Seattle and Portland Oregon.

I seen in here where many said Philippine persons are loving but why is it my Philippine God daughters step parents do not want her living with them? :O (on both sides)
To me that is not loving it breaks her heart and she is a bright and beautiful child and first honor as well at the age of eight.
If philippine persons are tight knit then why do you have so many unwanted street children here?
In the states if you have previous children from another marriage or relationship and you remarry the spouse is often happy to accept the new children as well and at times will adopt them and change the child into their name.
Here in Philippines its not the same way as I see it all the time.(most Philippine women tell me I am to kind in helping out with the unwanted child and that I am very caring to my Philippine husbands children.)
I spent much time at the cemetery this week and watched many loving Philippine persons litering on other graves and and urinating on them as well? :O
That's class!
If loving why did they not bring bags to put their trash into instead of making the cemetery into a gabage dump? In the states garbage pails are available for such popular attended to events but often overlow but normally we will pack our garbage out with us when the event is finished and find a proper place to put it.
Please keep in mind no one is perfect not everyone is totally loving all of the time and it's been proven in here many times already.

Despite the not so well things going on in here in Bohol itself It's still easy to share in a great amount of sense of humor with a majority of persons here.

In an average day I can make just about everyone I meet in person put out a great burst of laughter.




As for closing the malls early here last night the malls closed at 6:30 o'clock PM due to a lack of customers.
The normal hour to close is 9:00 0'clock PM.
ICM has allot of corporate restaurants to eat at and they are busy, as well as their grocery store.
Its the department stores that are not busy as they should be this time of year.

The owner of ICM is a friend of mine and has always friendly my friendly and lingaw personality and often have judged there as I'm a non biased person and judge fairly with giving scores that are complimenting.
I have noticed on this TB that you all ignore me if my comments are great and informational, but other post are short and meant for other persons and off track from what is being posted. Like what I am doing right now.
Makes one wonder if your all competing for a popular Filipino contest.
Your eyes and ears are not deaf to the real world I do not get offended if you talk badly about my native country in here.
You guys do it enough with out even knowing your doing in it in derogatory sense.
I catch your drift in here and I am perceptive as well to the general message.
In my country we call it CLIQUE.
Pak me when I am right and informative do not toink me if your personally taking out things on me.
You do not do it to your fellow TB Filipino members in here and they have said annoying things at times but why toink only me only?
