What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your lifetime?

It's funny. Once upon a time, had I been asked that, I would have given you a long list of goals and things to be checked off my to do list.

But when my brother in law died 2 yrs ago (he was 25), I took a long, hard look at my life and reevaluated my priorities.

Now, I live my life from day to day. For really, that's all we have. I think about death all the time too. I know I could die any moment. Gasgas na kaayo ni nga linya, but I spend my day aware that it might very well be my last. So really, the only goals I have left in me are: to love my husband as much as I can, to give of myself to others the best way that I can, and to go to bed at peace with myself and my God...and should I not wake up, I know I'll still be alright.

My goal in life?

That really is a hard question, Mike. Ive been thinking about this question earlier today, and when I think about it all--what really matters in life is our ability to care for our loved ones, raise our children the best way possible and enjoy life in the present, diba?

I guess my main goal in life is to emulate my father; he is my role model, really, he is the best example of a man for me--he is hard working, totally dedicated to his family here and back in the Philippines, loving towards his wife and never forgets to show his love, he is God-fearing, his retiscent character (he is the typical patriarchal figure--and he commands great respect from his family, friends and co-workers in the hospital). He is a man who has gone through so much in life---he lost his own father when he was only 21 y/o when he was still in Engineering school; despite such financial and personal problems associaed with the loss of his father (as my father was the eldest of 7 children!) he remained strong and with the GRACE of GOD, found an Engineering job in Saudi Arabia--where he worked to send the rest of his brothers and sisters to college--and at the same time---stayed loyal to my mother.

They say that a man's character is defined by his works--it really is true, jud. I hope and pray that I become as responsible and decisive as my father---I would like to impress him so that when I am a father in the future, he will smile and commend me. His approval is very important for me...

we're in the same boat.  i wanna help my siblings since i couldn't give them money at all times, at least if they finish their studies, they could get a good job and have a decent, good life with their future families.  i want to help my grandparents too (they're the ones who raised me up and my siblings), let them enjoy the good life.  and last but not the least, be a good person and be a good example to my fellowman.  i hope i can achieve these all!
