That is the beauty and totality of Loving someone, as much as one gives himself or herself to a partner, sometimes, just sometimes, it is just never enough. The pain of this realization can sometimes be very painful, and on some occasions, just sometimes that is, better to receive physical pain than a pain of a broken heart.

However, it is only when one feels disapointment of a broken love does one really truly understand the breadth and totality of one's love for that person. Only....in the end. Of what could have been, of what was, and of what can never be.

It is the scars of such experiences does one truly mature in terms of romance. And sometimes,..learn to be more open or to be more cautious.

Maybe there are 1000 books and more write-ups how to deal with it. But the mere fact is, it is not easy. My first break-up, it took me 5 years before I dated again. The pains were so overwhelming and ate me alive.

Maybe there are 1000 books and more write-ups how to deal with it. But the mere fact is, it is not easy. My first break-up, it took me 5 years before I dated again. The pains were so overwhelming and ate me alive.

A friend who recently broke up with his gf asked me if I had any tips to cope with break-ups.

My response: "Cry, write her a letter, write poems, just let it out. Express it. Don't retain the feelings. Release it, as well as release her from your mind."

During the time that I was dealing with my break up with my gf several years back (senior year in college), I wrote her letters and poems--but did not give it to her. After several months, I got over her--and had the strength to deliver her my written words. So we met up at the Campus Center; she sat in front of me: I had a cup of chai in front of me as she read the letter(s). I stared intently at her reading eyes. Then saw the tears coming down her face.

She tried to apologize, but I waved it off. It was already dead--the emotion I had for her. Seeing her cry and seeing the emotion come out of her--gave me a sense of satisfaction because that is how I felt months prior.

Its interesting that I hardly think of her anymore. She seems like a ghost of a memory.
