Poor ticket sales knock out Pacquiao’s concert

HONOLULU (AP)â€"A promoter says poor ticket sales have forced the cancellation of Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao’s upcoming concert Sunday in Waikiki.

Ryan Chang of Island Fire Productions said Tuesday he stood to lose about $50,000 on the concert, even with late sales and walk-ups.

Only 603 tickets had been sold for the show at the Waikiki Shell just days after more than 45,000 peopleâ€"the largest crowd to see a fight in the U.S. in 17 yearsâ€"watched Pacquiao retain his welterweight title against Joshua Clottey in Texas.

Pacquiao was going to earn $100,000 at the “Manny Pacquiao Live In Hawaii Concert Celebration.” He made at least $12 million for last Saturday’s fight.

i admire manny as a boxer because he's really that good. but him as an actor or singer sorry. how much more as a politician. he might end up like another erap. i can act and sing better than him. maybe it's time for him to reconsider all his plans and just focus on boxing. if he wanted to retire, he can retire but still he should shy away from from those things except for being a product endorser as he can still sell things.

it's an eye opener for manny that not because you are so popular you can do all things you want. it's time for him to realize that people are using him for business. even in his own team, people are making business out of his own knowledge. this will lead to his downfall later.
