Holiday observed on October 31, the eve of All Saints' Day. Its pagan origins can be traced to the Celtic festival of Samhain, celebrated in ancient England and Ireland to mark the beginning of the Celtic new year. The souls of the dead were supposed to revisit their homes on Samhain eve, and witches, goblins, black cats, and ghosts were said to roam abroad. The night was also thought to be the most favorable time for divinations concerning marriage, luck, health, and death. The pagan observances influenced the Christian festival of All Hallows' Eve, celebrated on the same date. The holiday was gradually secularized and was introduced into the U.S. by the late 19th century. Still associated with evil spirits and the supernatural, it is celebrated by children in costume who gather candy by ringing doorbells and calling out "trick or treat," "trick" referring to the pranks and vandalism that are also part of the Halloween tradition.

Yep, same  here!! Ningpalit  ko  ug dako  nga  candy pack  sa  COSTCO pero hangtod  karon..1930 pm..wala  may  nag dingdong...so  Philippine  bound  na  ning   mga  matam-is! ;D

Ganiha didto ko walmart namalit ko ug custume tag 3 dollar na raman for next year.Daghan pud ko gipalit aron naay kapilian akong anak ug nagpalit pud ko ug akoang custume. Nag treat or trick mi sa halloween night sa akong mga anak. Upat ra ka balay among giadtuan nuon murag lain man paminawon (siguro kay taga baryo man mi )nga mag door bell sa balay wa ka kaila unya candy ray tuyo. Bitaw wa joy mag trick or treat sa among balay mao modayo pa mi sa town aron ma experience sa mga bata.Mas way makalupig sa atong chrismas carolling sa atua.Wa ko ma excited sa candy hahhaah murag kining trick or treat nila diri cheap version ni sa atong panaygon ug pasko sa atua. Naa toy excitement kay mokanta gud ta lahi ra aning halloween nga way ka excitement excitement ang candy. Mas ma excited ang mga bata sa atua kung kining candy diri atong ipadala didto. Kato nag visit ko last january sa atua nagdala ko daghan candy corn kay aron makatilaw sila unsa ang candycorn hehhehe.

Gikan pa  pod  ko  sa Walmart...tag-50% off  na  man  ang  mga  chocolates  so  palit na  pod  ug  daghan  para  ipadala  sa  Pinas...maajo na  lang  ikura  didto...snickers, milky way  ug  kitkat!!
