With his traditional Mongolian wedding ceremony just around the corner, 56-year-old Bao Xishun, the world’s tallest man, has been busy looking for a bed that is large enough for his 2.36-m frame.

Bao and his bride, Xia Shujuan, registered their marriage on March 26. The ceremony is scheduled to take place in Chifeng, a city in the the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on July 21.



“Everything is ready for my wedding, except for a bed capable of fitting me at our new home,” Bao said last week after shopping around local furniture markets. The media have urged people to offer solutions to the dilemma.

Bao Xishun, 55, from Mongolia, China is 7 foot 9 inches tall. He has never been married or even dated because of his extreme height. In February this year, he met a 28 year-old girl named Xia, and they fell in love.

The soft spoken giant is from a family of herdsmen in Inner Mongolia. He has five normal-sized brothers and sisters. Earlier this year he was officially recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the tallest man on the planet.

His height was normal until he was 15, then the extraordinary growth spurt started. By the ago of 20, he was already 6 foot 11.

Bao now weighs 364 pounds, has legs that stretch for 4 foot 11 inches and his feet are each 1 foot 3 inches in length. Last year, he used his 3 foot 6 inch long arm to save a dolphin by extracting a plastic object from its stomach.

Oh, Mike, I remember when I once attended a married priests conventon 12 or 13 years back, one of the members said that he's been praying all his life, "Our father..... lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen" but when he saw this beautiful woman sitting on the first pew, his prayer changed to, "Our father... lead me into temptation and deliver me to evil. Amen." Yes, Mike, women, beautiful women are that powerful, they could change even the most tested prayers.    ;D

i've read this story awhile back. the guy i think has a mongolian or dongbei blood in him, maybe he is a han too; races in china who are known to be big and tall. but, i think with him, it's a pituitary abnormality mao nang taas siya. sa akoa, reverse effect mao nang mubo ko!!!
