nagdibal akong ulo. naa koy writing deadline, very urgent, ug nag-writer's block pa gyod ko, ambot na lang.
been bothered these last 2 weeks over a friend's domestic troubles. cruel husband gyod iyaha uy. gisayon-sayon ra man siyag ilis ug laing baye, hahay. akoy gipahungawan tawon ani nga friend, and i'm treading carefully as i wait for her to get over the damnation of feelings of rejection.
so far, so good. she's not self-destructive. but no matter how i try, i can't help but be affected by her despair. she's coming to see me tomorrow. this early, naglabad na akong ulo. there's really not much i can do to help her heal except to listen.
one thing with a broken heart; it will always be one's personal journey of pain and eventual redemption. may we all have that strength to take the journey every step of the way, the good with the bad, on to the expected relief and salvation at the end of the road.
naa baya gyod diay mga tawo nga lami sunogon, purya.
I will recommend, isles, this following beautiful prayer of St. Ignatius of Loyola:
O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.
Amen.
I'll include your friend as well as you in my evening prayers tonight. May the Holy Spirit shower blessings and graces to you both. Continue to encourage and show compassion to your friend. Blessed is a friend who is there in hard , trying times. God Bless you, Isles.
