what a way of leading someone to maturity.  (or is it forcing someone to mature?)

but one must love himself before he can commit to others. i mean, hermits are known for this.
(as far as i know, hermits are extreme self-lovers since they cannot commit to anyone)

ever heard of the word selflessness?

as for hermits, it is supposed that they've refused commitment to others as they've chosen a spiritual life of prayer away from the material world and have offered themselves wholly to god.  otherwise, i can't imagine a hermitage of benedictine or trappist monks or, for that matter, a cloister of carmelite nuns or pink sisters filled with narcissists.
