The Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight attendant who was called a “menopausal bitch” by Representative Eulogio Magsaysay of Alliance of Volunteer Educators party-list has filed a complaint before the ethics committee against the lawmaker on Monday.

Sarah Bonnin-Ocampo, who is also a member of the PAL Employees Association (Palea), was accompanied by members of the union to formally lodge the complaint in the House of Representatives.

At 10 a.m., Palea trooped to the Office of the Ombudsman to file a criminal complaint.

Magsaysay is accused of grave slander, serious misconduct, conduct unbecoming of a high ranking public official, and direct solicitation of personal favor or gain using his office, according to lawyer Bernadette Carrasco, counsel for Ocampo.

Asked for a reaction to the complaint, Magsaysay said in a text message, “That’s her right.”

“We wish that Sarah’s fight for justice will blaze a trail in the struggle for workers’ dignity. Service workers in the airline industry and call centers among others suffer indignities in the workplace through no fault of their own but receive no protection from their employers or the government,” Ginalyn Licayan, head of the Palea women’s committee, said.

Licayan said there are many workers who need support and protection against “abusive officials and insensitive customers.”

The labor group Partido ng Manggagawa expressed support for Ocampo.

“Sarah’s fight is the fight of all working women. We call on women workers and women advocates to stand up in support of Sarah against sexism and for dignity,” Judy Ann Miranda, secretary-general of the group, said.

Miranda also raised question against Magsaysay's qualification as a party-list representative.

“Magsaysay’s abusive behavior toward a woman employee exposes his pretensions as a representative of the marginalized. What underrepresented sector exactly does Magsaysay’s Alliance of Voluntary Educators speak for? It appears that Magsaysay as an advocate of the marginalized is as fictional as Mikey Arroyo being a representative of tricycle drivers,” she said.

Murag wala gidawat ang pasaylo. Inghangyo raman ning congressman nga pwede ba imove siya duol sa linkuranan sa iyang anak kay na separate siya pero naglitaniya pud ning flight attendant. PAL attendant are sometimes snub labi na ang international flight. Feeling pud ani nila hawod kaayo sila.Nakasabot ko sa congressman kay bisan ako nakaexperience ko twice aning poor customer service sa flight attendant aning PAL. Male fligh attendant to nga gikasab an kaayo ko kusog nga yawyaw kay akong anak natulog na iyang gusto pukawon kay dapat kono nakaseat belt.Ingreason ko nakaseat belt akong anak wa raman niya nakita kay akong gihabulan pero murag giphysical jud to sa attendant ug pamata akong anak. Kining mga menouposal bitch aning Pal deserving pud pang tanggalon sa trabaho kay siguro sa ilang hunahuna hawod na sila dili na sila ma fired kay lagi regular employee na gud. yes, raqz, puwera sa exceptions, kuyaw pod hinoon ning ubang pal flight attendants sa international flights, labi nag pinoy ka.  they're more like unfulfilled schoolmarms than great sky hostesses.  probably it's because they believe they've made it because of their international flights assignment that they act as if the rest of us are mere mortals.  kapila na ko katilaw ani nila.  on the other hand, they're not the worst either.  try continental airlines.  ugh.  lupig pay mga wrestlers sa ka-rough ug kamug-oton.

as for the hapless congressman (an unknown, until his tirade was publicized), it looks like he's getting as much as he gave.  and he's supposed to represent volunteer educators?  how can he educate well if he's a boor?  what a way to diminish the meaning of "volunteer" and "educator" with a few words.  i wonder how he treats his own wife...

hehe, at least, here's one congressman who knows the difficult word "menopause".  kalimot lang siya nga siya diay "nikupos".  he's a nikuposal boor in heat, hahaha!

Hahahaha mao ba Raq. 1988 last nako sakay ug PAL Int'l kay di ko muangay, samok jamo. Cathay Pacific for me has the best service unya direct pod sa Cebu (duol na jud sa Bohol). But last summer mao ni ako nasakyan. Maayo naman pod ang serbisyo; daghan2x napod makaon (hahaha mao ray tuyo). Pero karaan gehapon ang eroplano, unya ang tv common gehapon.
