A filmmaker confronts personal demons with help from 12 people who, like him, all came to Canada when they were 12 years old.

Lester Alfonso came to Canada from the Philippines and that first year shaped who he is today. His film asks the question: if you could go back and speak to your 12-year-old self, what would you say? Alfonso attempts to answer this question by interviewing a dozen people about this pivotal moment in their lives. On the cusp of surging teenage hormones, 12-year-olds often experience emotions with more intensity. Adapting to a new country at this age can be overwhelming and initial impressions sometimes last a lifetime. The stories told recall both pleasure and pain - ranging from the joy of shopping in a store filled with goods to the shame of personal humiliation by a teacher.

Talking about masturbation, I think personally this is the time where boys discover their maleness. Through our concept that it is a sin, it causes an emotional conflict in us which hampers our full development. It is a cause that some becomes sexually perverse.

I will tell my 12 y.o. to play more and be close with our neighbor.. (Cause he  became a campus hottie)

ill also tell myself to not purposely be late on all my badminton trainings to be able to escape the dreaded footwork trainings (soo tiring than the actual game) so that i'll not have difficulty on the court.

i tried playing badminton, kiams, sakit sa tiyan ug legs. maayo ka ani modowa.

nakalusot ko usc team ani glace.. but momtold me to quit. i got sick.wala na kaya sa ako lawas ang training.. kapoy ang exercises. musugot pako duwa way undang just not the drills!!
we even had rules nga if madrop ang shuttle cock, push up dayun or pumping ba to..ugh!
