The Rafael Palma College (now University of Bohol) High School Class of 1956-57 will hold its golden jubilee tomorrow. This was learned from Dr. Henya T. Sotelo, chairperson of the reunion committee.

Graduates coming from different parts of the country and the United States of America are expected to attend the special occasion.
          
Several activities have been lined up for the celebration capped by a dinner-program at 5:30 p.m. on the same day at the Villa Alzhun Restaurant in Mansasa District, this city.

I spent 3 semesters BSC, became a sororian of Alpha Sigma Phi ( third batch), those were my glorious years . Remember Comparsa nights and those competitions?

I've heard about the Comparsa nights and I've seen some of the pictures. But I haven't seen one ever performed.

Comparsa nights were like cultural intramurals. There were colorful dresses and dances in all forms, to the tune of jazz or cha-cha , really exciting because we have to compete with each departments. Mga b***t ang tig-todlo ug sayaw. It was fun having a good looking partner and to stroll K of C after the practice, labina kon full moon. Way pa may Personal Computer sa na ug internet. We have lots of socializing and barkadas.

I was part of the status transition of UB from RPC. I owe much gratitude to my Alma Mater for this is where my life was being molded. I was then a Striver under Capt. Alberto Cainglet. How I wish he still alive today! His ways of disciplining us is to me a gold that no money can buy. Thank you so much Sir for making great UBians as I am!

I have less to write about RPC becuase I studied only one year in 1969. I applied for a striver but unluckily i was not accepted. I stopped schooling and went to Davao and looked for chance to continue my studies.
I can not forget the long parade of students  of RPC during the opening of  college week celebration. The college president during that time was Atty Vivtoriano Tirol Sr.,  Dr. Ferlix Lao was the dean of education, Jovita Angcog was the school registrar and Flaviana Doria was the principal of the high schol department.
My memorable experience I can't forget is our Spanish class of Mr. Butalid during the last period in the evening. Some are sleepy . Hapit na ang tanan  students "namutalid" ug katolog  sa ilang lingkuranan. Segi gihapon ug explain si Sir.

Year latter in 1970, I learned that it became UB. It is the now the most prestigious school in Bohol.

Hapit ta mag abot diha bai. Na under sab ko ug Spanish ni Sir Butalid ug ni Sir Relampagos. Ang akong mga grado sa subject nila flat one jod maski bali balihon pa. Ug magroll call gani sila pwede epatubag lang nimo sa imong amigo maski absent ka ok ra gihapon. He he he...
