the miss tagbilaran is becoming less glamorous. last year was the WORST MISS TAGBILARAN so far.

this year's edition is controversial too when miss booy represented by mel angel doroy, who, during the screening landed in the top 10 (number 9) in  the final tally when the judges were mistaken to rank her number 11!!!  the miss tagbilaran committee asked for apology to booy council and to miss duroy for the mistake!!! why it happened? because the committee had let someone a certain ms. dela cruz to represent booy!!!

miss duroy is the absolute person to represent the barangay after winning the pageant on july 26, 2007. it just happened when ms. dela cruz who is representing cruztelco is proclaiming as miss booy. imagine, there were two candidates  in one barangay? so, the committee decided that miss de la cruz is miss cruztelco so that in their shame to allow miss duroy to join the pageant. instead of m,agic 10, there are 12 finalist after the so-called funny screening.

it is so sad to say that there are candidates who are not from tagbilaran. for the past years, the miss tagbilaran (known as mutya sa tagbilaran) is not an open pageant in which anyone whether you're  atagbilaranon or not can join.

the pageant is on april 29 which the venue is still to be announced as of today, april 21.

Actually during the first day of screening ang finish sa deadline one day women were being drug randomley from the conference room of Mayor Dan Lim.

So this caused some women to be entered one day after the deadline entry.

Last Sunday eight of the most influential media judged part of the pagaent for darling of the press and bikini swimwear.

I was one of the eight chosen.  I and Vida Tirol from PGMA were the only muses to represent the media the rest were the mens of course.

The girls are beautifull and seem taas with height this year.
I intereiwed them and was the last one to ask the questions to each candidate unless one of the guys did not take up two questions?

Each contestant was given 3 minutes to be asked and answer the questions imposed for them.
certain contestants did not give that intelligent of answers neither did some of the media ask questions that were constructive.

It seems as if after I asked my question the media man siting beside me would repeat my question to the next girl and so on so every girl I had asked a question too I had to keep challenging myself to come up with new questions.

some of my questions included; Do you think a swimsuit competition is necessary for this type of pagaent?

Since it is crisis now what would you like to put your winning prize money towards family,schooling, future family or investment?

The other guys basic not so hard thought out questions went like this; "What course are you studying?"

After taking our meals I was asked to shoot a video scene announcing darling of the press winner but told to keep it silent.

The video will be played on stage wth me announcing the winner of that said event.

I would like to see more politer things sain in here and if you can say both to just balance out your comments because nobody digs "Crab Mentality".

Another Contest is coming up for Miss Paglao and I will be judging that contest on May second after Tagbilaran fiesta.


I wish all the contestants the best in luck for me you were all pretty cute from what I seen of you!

i wasn't invited by the committee to attend the press launch of miss tagbilaran. i've been known as a critic of miss tagbilaran (mutya ng tagbilaran) before..and i'd expected the committee would not invite me.

so, how the committee can proclaim the darling of the press when the society's chronicler wasn't there?

my reaction? ewww!! kalevel na jud sa mga candidate ang mga isda, karne, etc...

honestly, dili na jud prestigious and glamorous ang miss tagbilaran. naunsa naman na oy,,.,

Leo, basin dili ang isda, karne, etc ang gi try ug reach out sa mga organizers but the public, meaning the vendors, the sellers, the ordinary "mamayang Pilipino", so to speak, because if you hold the pageant in big hotels or other fancy buildings, these people has no chance of being able to see what's Ms. Tagbilaran.  Anyway, I think mo stand out man jud ang beauty aning mga girls bisan asa sila ibutang and also having the contest in Dao Market will help promote the market.  Also, I think the people in the market would feel significant kay didto man gi hold ang contest. 

I just wish though na naa ka didto to give us feedback of how they did.   

i want to see the picture of the candidates of Miss tagbilaran 2008

Today I was able to attend the SP session of the City hall regarding several ordinances.

One of the topics had to do with why were the SP councilors deducted p100.00 in they're paychecks with out proper knowledge of it happening?

The money is to help support the pageant as it is a city government project under the previous mayor's rules that also allows the city mayor to deduct the wages automatically.

During other news today I am sad to regret the passing away of this years Miss Tagbilaran pageant coordinator and sponsor of the event Mario Uy's wife has passed away due to an aneurysm .

The ideal of the pageant being held at the Dao Market which is stinking to high heavens at present should be put in it's perspective.

I do not want to confuse anyone regarding the last statement. The man who is coordinating the Pageant it is his wife who has passed away.
Mario Uy and his wife just flew back to Bohol after a breif trip in going to United States.

May I give my full condolences to Mario Uy, deputy Mayor of Tagbilaran and his family at such a horrific time of death.

Mario Uy, is also owner of the beautiful Marivella resorts.

He also former past president of the province for restaurants and resort owners association

Oh my!  Condolence to the Uy Family!

Precious, how old was the wife of Mario Uy?  Aneurysm can really be fatal.  I used to work with a guy who was only 35 at that time and he died because of that.  May the wife of Mario Uy rest in eternal peace and may the family be comforted in this trying time of their lives.
