Protecting wildlife
« on: December 15, 2008, 03:41:54 PM »
Hey there! Next month we will start a new project at our University, involving the contribution to 5 different charities. We already found 3 organizations: one that deals with protecting wildlife, another one that is about building schools in various countries in Africa and the last one has to do with recycled products. My question here is: does anyone know another good cause, but from another field than the three we already have? And more important: ways to collect money for charity? Any idea is welcome!!!

I know one and that is technical training to the urban poor. This is empowerment of an individual for self sustainability; thus, eradicating or knocking down poverty (borrowed from GEC).

It is like the saying that I've read somewhere in Tubag Bohol: "Give a man a fish and he will feast for a day; Teach him how to fish and he will feast for a lifetime".

Rosamia5, many people in Tubag Bohol are willing to help people with noble endeavour. However, how can we be sure that you are not a part of a scam. Sorry to ask but you know the world these days.

Hence, please introduce yourself and from which country and university you are based.

Thanks

It's nice to hear that in Bohol there are lots of charities works. It's really nice to help and protect our environment.

I understand your side especially now a day many people involve on scam because of personal interest.

But in my side I've shared this to know more and learn from you guys also.

I expected some details in your reply, like which University are you attending/projects you are initiating, what are these charities and the 3 organizations you have found.
Are you a Bol-anon? These are  important to me to feel the sincerity of your mission and postings.
take care,
Manay Tess

Hi Rosamia5,

I am suspecting, but not sure.

From your tone of your writing, it seems that you are not a Filipina.

So you must be one of the Miss Earth Candidates if I'm not mistaken.

I revel in this topic. Thank you and to your colleagues for pursuing such a noble goal.

One other  cause should be : Medical Immunization for the poor in underdeveloped nations in South East Asia.

There has been alot of focus on Africa from many western countries and the IMF, whereas not so much has been focused in developing countries in Asia, which have poor and subpar medical facilities to assess the growing needs of a burgeoning population, especially a rising number of youth, many of whom have not even recieved proper immunization etc. Nations such as Philippines, Myanmar, East Timor, Cambodia, Laos, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia etc are but examples. Perhaps if you and your group could raise awareness of that, it would lead to help and or a growth in international attention of the crisis at hand.

I do, however, salute you and your pursuits. It is very noble of you to bring this up.

You have my respect and adoration,
