First whiff of springtime Japan
« on: April 07, 2010, 12:09:29 PM »
Here are some snapshots taken during my two kids' vacation in Japan (FB friends, sensya na for the redundant post). Despite the erratic weather, the cherry blossoms are brightening up the surroundings on schedule. But such a glorious sight is expected to be around for only two weeks. That's why the Japanese invariably wax poetic over sakura. The best things in life are ephemeral--so breathe them in, relish those moments, seize the here and now! This moment is the only certainty we have of joy!

The family--sans Sarah who's temporarily with her auntie in Bohol--greets the first buds of sakura at the Kasimagaura Lake Park in Tsuchiura City, about 80 km from Tokyo.

Raya and Paolo taking a whiff of Japan's springtime air and refreshing themselves before the start of college life.

A father is only too happy to have his son tower over him.

A family that prays and relaxes together always gets the windmills behind them.

Lynne with friends Dinah and Evelyn

Japanese project pud gihapon. Kita-kita lang unya ta pohon didto.

I also remember Orchids this cherry blossoms season.

God willing, naa na gyud tay opportunity nga magkahimamat ani either sa Cebu or Bohol. Agianan man gyud ang Cebu sa tanan. I just hope dili kaayo piot akong schedule, kay kahibawo ka na sa Japanese working style.

Just as I thought.

Wala pa ko kakitag cherry blossoms at that time. Kung tinuod nga cherry blossoms, mura gyud tingali maglisod ug bulak kay tibuok tuig init man sa atoa. Cherry blossoms react to the change in temperature from winter to spring to bloom.

Thanks, Bran. Springtime is indeed beautiful everywhere. It's what I'll miss when I work full blast in Cebu. Given the wet and chilly temperature in Japan even in April, I'm just dreaming of Bohol's sunshine now.

Oh indeed, Tito. I was just walking through the streets of Montclair, NJ. There I spend most of my time studying at the Starbucks and at the local Barnes and Noble Book Store. The weather has been exceptionally sunny and cool. The trees are blooming, the petals and buds are exquisite to the eyes.

Everything is just so beautiful. I feel blessed. I am blessed.

Springtime is a reminder for all of us that the deep sleep of winter has passed; and that life has come back again.

A literal reminder for all of us of the message of Easter. That there is no permanence in death. There is life after death; God reminds us every year when the leaves grow again, when the flowers begin to bloom again, when the birds return from their migration.

Regards to your family, Tito.
Extend my love to them. And to you.

Always,
Bran.

Tito, advanced congratulations to your beloved son for acceptance into college.
What will he be studying?

Kindly remind him to devote studies with a perfect understanding and study of the Word of God.
Who fills in any human misunderstanding, and perfects the mind.
Confidence in the Word of God and in His Promise can enable a man of God to move mountains.
God Bless his studies and his goals.
From the crown of his head to the soles of his feet, may his paths always be straight. And perfected in the Power of God's Divine Power. In Christ, all things are possible. All Things.
