Depende sa tawo, bro. I'm surprised that there are equal amount of people who are 'not religious' as there are who are 'religious' in my circle of friends and acquaintances. My two room mates who just moved in with me are both white guys. One is originally from Arkansas and grew up going to catholic school; my other room mate , Ryan, comes from Wisconsin and a cradle Catholic. When we cook together we always say grace before eating. So, naa jud tawo diri nga religion matters ; there are those who don't care.
In regards to relationships, yes. For serious relationships, i notice that it tends to be harder if one is from another faith than the other. There are a lot of American youth now joining online dating such as catholicmatch.com to find people who are of the same religious background and values. The church that I am part of, St. Mary of the Lake Roman Catholic Parish, has a group called "20's and 30's group" that tries to introduce single Catholic men and women with each other and holds weekend functions like movie night, adoration of the eucharist, etc. Daghan mo attend; kai daghan man Americans that do adhere to Church teachings, despite what the media tries to portray.
Majority of white-americans diri sa USA are pretty much very christian and conservative. Family life , just like in the Philippines, is central to their life. That's one thing I like.
Bitaw, I agree. Much of what is portrayed in the media, specially kadtong moabot dire sa Pilipinas, is that Americans are not religious and liberated (which I guess also true when it comes to the Philippines. Basin mga nakabahag pa ang mga Pilipino sa concept sa mga Americano. Hehehe).
I am elated nga daghan pa diay gihapong mga young professionals dihaa nga living by their faith. Nagkalisud na ra ba ang panahon.
As to the other faith issue in a relationship, pareho ra pud diay diria. Lisud jud pud ning lain ug faith.
