Why Me?

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983.

From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: "Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease"?

To this Arthur Ashe replied:

" The world over -- 50 million  children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis,

500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the  grand slam,

50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals,

when I was holding a cup I never asked GOD 'Why me?'.

And today in pain I should not be asking GOD 'Why me?'  "

Happiness keeps you Sweet,

Trials keep you Strong,

Sorrow keeps you Human,

Failure keeps you humble and Success keeps you glowing, but only Faith & Attitude Keeps you going...

This is very nice, Bene san!  Yeah, we tend to only question God when things are uncomfortable.  Did we ever ask, after a long flight, God, why didn't my plane crash?

Sometimes, we take for granted the daily blessings we have in our lives like getting home with out any incident in the road or simply having a wonderful dinner without choking.  Life is full of blessings and graces.  It doesn't have to be winning the lottery.

Arthur Ashe knew he is a blessed man despite his AIDS.  He is blessed with faith that is giving him peace in his heart.

You can't be more right Grazie.

I am trying to accept that everything that happens in my life, good or bad, is a moment of the sovereign God choosing me for a special purpose. Down here, everything may seem random, but in God's perfect view up there, everything is proceeding according to His plan.

Romans 8: 28 says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

This is why I always say everyday along with my husband that "we live a day as if it's our last". Nothing is taken for granted. We'll never know!
