What opportunities do you have to obey God’s command to love?

As a result of adult children neglecting their responsibilities, some elderly parents in Singapore are forced to seek financial help from charities and other state agencies. Speaking about this escalating situation, a government official said, “We cannot legislate love.”

In the Bible, however, love is commanded. That is what Moses told the nation of Israel: “I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways” (Deut. 30:16). And Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to “love the Lord your God” (Mark 12:30).

How can God command love? His supreme display of love at Calvary gave Him that right. Jesus’ beloved disciple, John, wrote: “By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. . . . This is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment” (1 John 3:16,23).

What opportunities do you have to obey God’s command to love? Honoring parents by caring and providing for them? Ministering to a sick friend? Offering a gracious and kind word to someone who is difficult to love?

Beautiful post. Yes, indeed, it is true that sometimes we can be hard headed at times (i myself am prone to this) and get into arguments. However, that should not be the basis of a relationship with those whom we have just met or know very little. Sometimes, its good to let the other person know you and vice versa. It is hard to do , to love our neighbor, especially in this day in age where there is a sense of mistrust and guarded atmosphere. However, we should try to change that but enancting this for ourselves.

How wondrous it is, isn't it guys? That Christ kissed the lepers clean, and healed the lame to walk, and endured the curses of those who hated him, yet He loved them anyway?

It is in itself a lesson and a moral compass. Yes Jesus, I accept you in my life always. Yes Jesus I want to live a good life that you want us to live. Even with our faults and shortcomings, Come to our lives and fill our hearts with the strength to accomplish Your Good and Perfect Will...

God says Quran is complete. The Quran says to equate nothing else with the Quran. The Quran says the Messenger's job was to deliver the message. People are not allowed to supplement the Quran and to do so is a sin. The Quran says that those who were around at the time of Prophet could have followed the prophet. Abu Hurya was the greatest story teller of all. A hater of dogs and women. Hadiths contradict each other and the Quran, they are all false.
