A two-year-old beagle in Ohio has a new 'leash' on life after he was rescued just two days before he was supposed to be euthanized.

The adorable pooch, named Gregory, was scheduled to be put down at the Franklin County Dog Shelter in Columbus on May 3 because he was heartworm positive.

Luckily for the stray, the owners of HOUND Rescue and Sanctuary saw the dog on the euthanasia list at FCDS and decided to take Gregory in until they could find a forever home for him.

Joe Kirk, co-owner of the center, picked up Gregory two days before he was going to be put down.
