Born and raised in the Philippines, Geraldino earned her education degree from St. Paul’s University where she majored in math and minored in English.
She taught high school in a Catholic university in Manila for eight years, before moving on to teach in college in the same school. She also served as the school’s Vice President for Academic Affairs.
The teacher who is affectionately called “Miss G†in school attributed her passion for teaching to her father and her grade school math teacher.
“My father taught me things when I was a young child, math especially, in an interesting way. I looked up to him,†Geraldino said in a profile posted on her school’s website.
“I wanted to be like him—he’s not a teacher, but I wanted to be like him,†she added.
It was when she also made her elementary math teacher her role model that she realized that she wanted to be a teacher, Geraldino said.
“My teachers would always say ‘Oh, you love to talk. Maybe that’s where your passion is.’ From there it just developed. I love teaching,†she noted.
