Embryology and Anatomy in the Bible
« on: November 22, 2008, 05:54:55 PM »
The brilliance of Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Father in Heaven,
The wisdom of God came upon Apostle Paul to reverberate this to us,

Paul, a Roman citizen and a commoner who lived in the 1st century AD was already given the knowledge of Anatomy and Embryology through Christ Our Lord.

And Sings Glory to the Brilliance of Almighty Providence,

To grasp better the thought of the author of First Thessalonians, it will be a good thing to keep in mind also another text, which we find in First Corinthians. Paul sets forth in it his great ecclesiological doctrine, according to which the Church is the Body of Christ. Paul takes the opportunity to formulate the following argumentation about the human body: "...God arranged the organs in the body, each one of them, as he chose" (1 Cor 12:18). Further on he said: "On the contrary, the parts of the body which seem to be weaker are indispensable, and those parts of the body which we think less honour able we invest with the greater honour , and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving the greater honour  to the inferior part, that there may be no discord in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another" (ibid. 12:22-25).

It amazes me, it overwhelms me, to know, as a medical student studying medicine in the 21st century, that the mind of Apostle Paul, who spoke and preached to the Thessalonians some 2 thousand years ago, was already provided the wisdom of human anatomy, and physiology and embryology.

When he said in 1Cor 12:18, "God arranged the organs in the body, each one of them, as he chose." he has already defined the anatomical design of development during the embryological period. He mentions again that "god composed the body, giving the greater honour to the inferior part, that there may be no discord in the body."

This correlates with the evolution of the ectoderm into the neuroectoderm, into the mesoderm, the splanchnic mesoderm, the protmesoderm, the endoderm. Which develops into diaphragmatic recesses, then into large organs, then into smaller organs. Yet all in sync with one another. We see this as how the stomach develops and the small intestines develop (from which the duodenum, the jejunum and the ileum develop) and from that the liver, and from the liver the kidneys, the gall bladder, then the bile duct etc.

Organized in such a way that was already predisposed. One springing forth from the other.

The imprint of Divine Providence is MANIFEST!

Truly, the Holy Spirit was with Apostle Paul in his ministry.

Glory Glory and Glory to the Lord. Unending praise, from eternal age to age.
