At the U.N. international climate talks in Warsaw, Poland yesterday, Philippines delegate Naderev "Yeb" Sano broke down in tears and vowed to fast until a "meaningful outcome is in sight."
Sano, who has relatives that were caught in Super Typhoon Yolanda-Haiyan, said that he is still waiting for word about relatives that were caught in the catastrophic storm that packed winds of up to 195 mph last week. Though grateful to find that his brother was alive, he was saddened to hear of the agony survivors are going through.
His brother has been doing what he can to help the grief-stricken region.
"In the last two days he has been gathering bodies of the dead with his own two hands," Sano said.
Sano says the intensity of Super Typhoon Yolanda was caused by climate change.
