« on: August 31, 2025, 06:19:31 AM »

🏪 Origins and Evolution
- Founded in 1927 in Dallas, Texas, as the Southland Ice Company, selling ice and basic groceries.
- Renamed Tote’m Stores in 1928, a play on the word “tote” (to carry), with some stores featuring totem poles.
- In 1946, the name changed to 7-Eleven to reflect its extended hours: 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.—a novelty at the time.
- The company pioneered 24/7 operations, introduced the Slurpee in 1965, and became a franchise leader.

🌍 Global Expansion and Ownership
- In 1973, Japanese retailer Ito-Yokado signed a franchise agreement to bring 7-Eleven to Japan.
- By 1991, Ito-Yokado acquired a 70% stake in Southland Corporation (then the parent of 7-Eleven).
- In 2005, it completed a full acquisition, making 7-Eleven, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Seven-Eleven Japan, itself part of Seven & i Holdings, based in Tokyo.
- Today, Seven & i Holdings owns over 85,000 stores globally, with the largest concentration in Japan.

🇵🇭 Philippine Context
- Locally, Philippine Seven Corporation (PSC) was established in 1982 and opened the first 7-Eleven store in 1984 in Quezon City.
- PSC operates under a master license from 7-Eleven International and is publicly listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. - John 3:16-18
