Freak accidents took its toll on six lives in Bohol over the holidays.
The first involved Engr. Maurito Lim or the popular "Chairman Mao", a block-timer at a local radio station who accidentally rammed his Isuzu Crosswind to a group of teenagers hanging around the national highway in barangay Cantomocad, Loon on the fateful Thursday night.
One of the three teenagers, 17-year-old KC Estremos, died after Lim's car hit him, while his girlfriend Carmel Juaton, 17, and another companion, Ronalie Aboredo, also a 17-year-old who is from Banilad, Cebu City.
Loon Police Investigator SPO1 Alexander Nuñez said he will file tomorrow, reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and physical injuries against Lim before the Provincial Prosecutor's Office. (see related story)
In another accident, a 66-year-old woman died a few hours after she was hit by a Kawasaki Aura on November 2, 2007 while walking along the road in barangay Loreto, Cortes.
The victim, Ana Corita Butod, was rushed to Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital, then transferred to Ramiro Community Hospital where she expired after a few hours.
At five in the afternoon of the same day, another accident took toll on two lives in Pilar. Reports had it that two 18-year-old women drowned in Sagnap Spring.
According to police report, Jiji Tabacan of barangay Babag, Dagohoy drowned first. Her companion, Phoebe Ocio of barangay San Isidro, Pilar, just tried to rescue her but failed.
Meanwhile, bodies of two teenagers were found yesterday dawn lying on a secluded area in Sitio Doldol, at Ubujan District, Tagbilaran City.
Police identified the victims as Helarion Gondong, 26, of Purok 2 Tiptip District, and Regina Batajoy, 22, who is from Llangga, Surigao del Sur and is temporarily residing at Purok 3, at Tiptip District, Tagbilaran City.
Gondong's mother, Gregoria, denied that the victims were lovers, saying his son's girlfriend is from Baclayon.
According to SPO2 Reynario Añana, they are still pursuing investigation on the case. (Sen Guingguing)
