✅ Get plenty of rest the night before. Aim for at least 7–9 hours of sleep.
✅ Stay hydrated. Drink lots of water before and after donating.
✅ Eat iron-rich foods (e.g., lean meat, fish, eggs, beans, green leafy vegetables) to keep your hemoglobin levels up.
✅ Avoid fatty and greasy foods (e.g., burgers, fries, pizza) before donation, as they can affect blood testing.
✅ Have a light meal before donating—don’t donate on an empty stomach.
✅ Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 24 hours before and after donation.
✅ Bring a valid ID for registration.
✅ Check your medications. If you’re taking any, verify with the blood donation center if they affect eligibility.
On Donation Day: ✔ Wear a short-sleeved or loose-sleeved shirt for easy access to your arm.
✔ Stay calm and relaxed—don’t stress too much about the process.
✔ Inform the staff about any recent medical procedures, including your wisdom tooth extraction.
✔ Let them know if you feel dizzy or lightheaded at any point.
After Donation: 🔹 Rest for at least 10–15 minutes at the donation site.
🔹 Drink plenty of fluids for the next 24 hours.
🔹 Avoid heavy lifting and strenuous activities for the rest of the day.
🔹 Eat a healthy meal to replenish lost nutrients.
🔹 If you feel dizzy, lie down and elevate your legs until you feel better.
