Get plenty of rest the night before. Aim for at least 7–9 hours of sleep.

Stay hydrated. Drink lots of water before and after donating.

Eat iron-rich foods (e.g., lean meat, fish, eggs, beans, green leafy vegetables) to keep your hemoglobin levels up.
✅
Avoid fatty and greasy foods (e.g., burgers, fries, pizza) before donation, as they can affect blood testing.
✅
Have a light meal before donating—don’t donate on an empty stomach.
✅
Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 24 hours before and after donation.
✅
Bring a valid ID for registration.
✅
Check your medications. If you’re taking any, verify with the blood donation center if they affect eligibility.
On Donation Day: ✔ Wear a
short-sleeved or loose-sleeved shirt for easy access to your arm.
✔ Stay
calm and relaxed—don’t stress too much about the process.
✔ Inform the staff about
any recent medical procedures, including your wisdom tooth extraction.
✔ Let them know if you feel
dizzy or lightheaded at any point.
After Donation: 🔹
Rest for at least 10–15 minutes at the donation site.

Drink plenty of fluids for the next 24 hours.

Avoid heavy lifting and strenuous activities for the rest of the day.
🔹
Eat a healthy meal to replenish lost nutrients.
🔹 If you feel dizzy,
lie down and elevate your legs until you feel better.
