I have just obtained an info from the DENR. The truth is that what the mayor had told the DENR that they would prone the trees. Later the DENR was surprised upon inspection that the mayor had cut all the trees, young and old, for no reason at all. Later we know the mayor just wanted her new public market be seen by all. One acacia tree was spared from the heartless massacre because the mayor could no longer find a brave soul that she could hire to cut the trees. The one who cut the giant tree mysteriously died the day after he cut that century-old tree.

If you go to Guindulman, you'd find that no soul was happy with the heartless decision of the mayor.

basin in DOCTOR's term, ang PRUNING is CUTTING the whole tree..

He he, my favorite subject exactly, before I dropped out--for an even more fascinating subject!

Seriously, Ms. Wolf, yes, it's a pity that basic intellectual disciplines such as logic and ethics are lost on some professionals, including those who have taken the Hippocratic Oath. Can it be that, perhaps, some people are driven to politics due to their sense of guilt or inadequacy in relation to their erstwhile professions? That their basic ineptness decrees their bungling their efforts to uphold their "legacy" in the process?

Killing is everything kay beautification ang objective...

Hmm, duda ko nga Wallace Stevens fan ni siya (albeit in a sick way). In his poem "Sunday Morning", Stevens writes:

"Death is the mother of beauty; hence from her,
Alone, shall come fulfilment to our dreams
And our desires. Although she strews the leaves
Of sure obliteration on our paths,
The path sick sorrow took, the many paths
Where triumph rang its brassy phrase, or love
Whispered a little out of tenderness,
She makes the willow shiver in the sun
For maidens who were wont to sit and gaze
Upon the grass, relinquished to their feet."

ako pod.  'from death alone comes the fulfillment of our dreams...'  whew!  here are hopes that it's not from the death of the trees alone that the honorable mayor's dreams were fulfilled.

Count me in.

Mi sign na ko sa petition.

During the 1900's up to 20's my grandfather the late Rufino Sarmiento was a 'kapatas' (foreman) of a survey team that paved the way to construct major roads of Bohol. My late grandmother told me that it was my grandfather's initiative being superstitious to replace fallen trees with Acacia Trees planted beside the new road they built.

I believe those were one of my grandfather's trees. Those were sacred to me.

Akong nahibaw-an pod sa una mga 10 years back nga some of the Acacia trees sa Loboc giputol sa taga Boheco.
