The provincial government has bestowed a due recognition to former Bohol governor Atty. Conrado Marapao, Sr. for his “memorable and valuable contribution and accomplishments” to Bohol.

Phil. Councilors League- Bohol chapter president and ex-officio Board Member Jescelo S. Adiong initiated a move during the November 5, session for the passage of a Resolution recognizing governor Marapao’s contribution to the province.

Adiong sad that then U. S. general MacArthur and ex-president Manuel Quezon recognized Marapao as guerilla governor during world war II.

“The late ex-governor was known to be the Governor of the Free Local Civil Government of Bohol, also known as Resistance Movement,” or the Liberation Governor, Adiong said in his privilege speech.

MArapao then served the province of Bohol from May 22, 1942 until June 26, 1946 during Japanese occupation.

He was born on February 20, 1910 in Loay, Bohol and passed away on November 14, 1985 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Quezon City, Adiong said.

As a lawyer, Governor Marapao also served as elected president of Bohol Bar Association and Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Bohol chapter.

"Marapao was the chairman of Governor's League of the Philippines with President Ramon Magsaysay and the governor of Zambales as his secretary."

Prior to his becoming the governor, Marapao serve as provincial board member of the province for the period January 1, 1941 to May 21, 1942 following his win in an election as an independent candidate, Adiong said.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
