The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will highlight success stories of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) during the Central Visayas Region SME Summit this Friday, July 22, at the Metrocentre Hotel, this city.

During the event, DTI Secretary Gregory Domingo is expected to give a keynote speech on the “Spurring MSME Development” which will focus on harnessing technologies for SME development.

DTI-Bohol provincial director Maria Elena Arbon will lead the launching of the Bohol Products Website.

DTI-7 Regional Director Asteria Caberte said the summit is aimed at disseminating the strategies on improving the competitiveness of the priority sectors in the Central Visayas Region.

The summit will also showcase the success stories of entrepreneurs who implemented strategies which led to the growth of their companies.

“The strategies to be adopted in the implementation of the MSME development plans have been designed to improve access to markets, access to finance, productivity and efficiency, and the business environment,” according to Caberte.

The summit will be anchored on the theme, “Greening and Winning Business Strategies,” in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
