from The Bohol ChronicleAdding to the festive mood of the Sandugo celebration this month, product fairs and expositions showcasing local products of Bohol and of neighboring provinces are mounted in strategic areas of the city.
The Trade Fair and Food Fair, which have commenced operations early last Monday, are both situated at the City Tourist Port. The former accommodates some 50 stalls marketing variety of goods while the latter has 16 food courts serving delectable dishes. These are managed by Mario Uy, proprietor of Miravilla Resort, with Jun Caturza, proprietor of JJ's Seafood Village.
The Plant and Garden Show with its display of assorted agricultural products is at the City Hall Grounds. First Ladies of Tagbilaran and Bohol, Dr. Sharlene Lim and Greenie Aumentado, is expected to do the ribbon-cutting ceremony tomorrow July 2 at 9 a.m. This activity is spearheaded by the Bohol Gardeners and Landscapers Association with the help of the Provincial Agriculture Office through Liza Quirog and Rosanna Lamdagan.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Government of Bohol in coordination with other government agencies and NGOs, sponsors a Sandugo Product & Lifestyle Fair and Creative Industry Agora to be housed at the Island City Mall from July 18 to 22. Formal opening is at 5 p.m.
Peripheral activities are fora and symposia aimed at developing market know-how of and forging business linkages among participants, namely: Tekno-Serbsiyo and Seaweed Industry Symposium on July 18; Back-Strap Weaving 1 and Butterfly Framing, PEF Water Manual Launching, Bol-anon Talk Show, Rabies Program and Climate Change Program on July 19; Back-Strap Weaving 2 and Clay Moulding, Banana Congress on July 20; Social Development Fora, Farmers' Congress, Back-Strap Weaving 3 and Loom Weaving on July 21.
Also featured are Boholano Food Cookfest Gourmet Edition and Professional & Student Edition on July 20 at ICM and on July 21 at BQ, respectively. Cultural Presentations are staged nightly to inject more color to the activity.
Manifold talents in the person of Mrs. Enriqueta Butalid, Prov'l CCAD Head, Nannette Arbon, DTI Provincial Caretaker, and Gardy Labad, BACH Council Head take charge in making the event possible.
