Coast Guard Station Bohol conducts maritime safety enforcement patrol
BOHOL Philippines, (30 August 2019) Coast Guard Station Bohol together with Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) onboard (Diesel Fast DF-318), three Coastal Response Aluminum Boats (ABs), and two Jetskies off the coasts of eastern seaboard of Bohol. Today’s operations cover the coastal towns of Guindulman, Anda, Candijay and Mabini.
In a proactive stance, similar interagency operations have been conducted in other key tourist areas in Cebu and Bohol to ensure that all boats are properly marked for security traceability thru the PCG's Safety, Security and Environmental Numbering System (SSEN), registered by MARINA7 to ensure vessel safety, and eventually accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT7) for monitoring and assurance that only safe, secure and environmental law compliant boats are engaged in tourism-related transport services to ensure world class quality and sustainable maritime tourism in Central Visayas.
All units under Coast Guard District in Central Visayas have been actively sustaining synchronized operations to promote maritime safety, security and maritime environmental law compliance through its campaign plan iCARE or intensified Community assistance, Awareness, Response and Enforcement together with partner agencies to address specific predetermined issues from periodic joint assessments through the series of interagency maritime caravan, a value-added innovation during regular coast guard patrols regionwide.
