The National Bureau of Investigation Field Office here will reopen soon.
This was announced by Provincial Administrator Alfonso Damalerio II last Friday during the radio program Kita ug ang Gobernador regularly held at the People’s Mansion and simulcast live through all local radio stations in the province of Bohol.
“This time, Governor Edgar Chatto made the initiative to spare our fellow Boholanos from the trouble of going to Cebu just to secure these clearances. The provincial government had offered to buy the necessary equipments like the biometrics capturing machine and these will be delivered soon,†administrator Damalerio said.
For more than a year now, the NBI field office had stopped its operation here when the bureau contacted a new computer systems provider that disturbed their data files.
Boholanos have to go to Cebu to secure clearances for various requirements like travel and employment. They have to cue in a long line and spend time and money in Cebu for the needed NBI clearance.
The re-opening of the NBI office here was also earlier discussed with Regional Director Atty. Ed Villarta during the recent HEAT Caravan mobile services in Guindulman and Antequera wherein NBI was among the national government agencies that actively participated in the activity.
