LOBOC, BOHOL – Ang proyekto sa Loctob Water Treatment Plant nga gilauman nga mahuman karong Disyembre 20, nahimong layo sa tinuod tungod sa mga kalangan ug kontrobersiya nga naglibot niini. - Full Statement From Loctob Water -
We then agreed to proceed with no media, allowing only LGU Loboc with its lawyer and LWI with its lawyer. However, we requested that CENRO, BMinRRO, BEPTF, DPWH, EMB Region 7, Mines and Geosciences, BPEMO, and others be excluded. Still, Mayor Jala refused our final request. We then politely asked for permission to leave and exited after sensing that Mayor Jala was still insistent on conducting an inspection due to social media insinuations that we were engaging in quarrying.
LWI is not involved in quarrying, as confirmed by BEPTF. We have the necessary legal documents, including an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC), DENR tree-cutting permit, National Water Resources Board (NWRB) Water Permit, NWRB Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC), Mayor’s/Building permit, DPWH permit, and certificates of no objection from the SB and Barangay Gotozon.
Our lawyer formally requested that Mayor Jala halt these unnecessary inspections so that the citizens of Loboc can have potable water in their taps by December 20, 2024. This would be the most beneficial action for Loboc’s residents, who are suffering from a lack of water.
We respectfully appeal to Mayor Jala to reconsider his position on conducting further inspections, as this is causing unnecessary delays and could potentially discourage our investors.
We suggest that Mayor Jala follow the example set by Cortes Mayor Iven Lim in 2018. When he received a complaint from 888 during the PRRD administration regarding our water treatment plant construction in Patrocinio, Cortes, Mayor Lim did not inspect the project again or call our attention. Instead, he responded to 888 Malacañang by providing all of our ECC and legal documents. LGU Cortes inspected us only once before issuing the Building/Mayor’s Permit. Mayor Iven Lim demonstrated political will to provide Boholanos with water. Since 2019, we have been supplying potable water to the people of Bohol.
In LGU Trinidad, even though the Mayor, Vice Mayor, and SB are politically opposed, we are still operating and supplying potable water to the people of Trinidad without encountering any inspection issues. They set aside politics for the welfare of their constituents.
As long as the people of Loboc and Bohol continue to support us, LWI will continue its work legally and ethically to provide clean, safe, affordable, potable water to all Lobocans and Boholanos.
