« on: June 14, 2010, 05:55:08 AM »
A group of farmers and fisher folks pressed for genuine reforms in the face of recent changes in the provincial and national leadership.

The group led by HUMABOL (Hugpong Mangunumang Bolanon), BOKKANA-Pamalakaya, Anakpawis-Bohol, women folk and representatives from Panglaonons against Reclamation, recently commemorated the 23rd anniversary of the promulgation of the Agrarian Reform Program on June 10, 1987 by the mother of president elect Nopynoy- the late president Cory Aquino.

The group held a dialogue with representatives of the DENR and Dr Antonio A. Del Socorro , DAR Provincial Administrative Officer II after which a brief rally was staged in front of the Capitol Building. The group called for the end of CARPER and the approval of the Genuine Agrarian Reform Bill RB 1359.

The reformist group then forwarded a letter to Goverrnor-elect Edgar Chatto enumerating concerns of the farmers and fisher-folks signed by HUMABOL Chairman Ruben Sabio.
