Bohol Provincial Library 95th Foundation
« on: September 07, 2020, 09:43:44 AM »
Today is the 95th Founding Anniversary of Bohol Provincial Library.

Encouraged by the growing needs of the province at that time, Representative Fermin S. Torralba and Representative Celestino Gallares passed a bill in Congress establishing a Bohol Branch Library in the province. As soon as it was made into law, it was readily implemented by Governor Juan S. Torralba.

The Bohol Provincial Library opened its doors to the public on September 07, 1925 with the inimitable Cirilo K. Darunday as its first Provincial Librarian.

In 1987, the name of Bohol Provincial Library was modified to Bohol Provincial Library and Information Center, following the issuance of a memorandum by the National Library of the Philippines Director Narcisa V. Muñasque, ordering all public libraries to add “And Information Center” after the original name of the public library.

Bohol Provincial Library & Information Center proudly celebrates its Nonagintennial Year, as it stands pat on its pledge to spread culture and knowledge to the Boholano people.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
