Police Senior Supt. Anthony Obenza vacated his post as provincial director of the Phil. National Police (PNP) in Bohol after a turnover ceremony was held Monday night at Camp Sergio Osmena in Cebu City.
Obenza told the Chronicle last night that he ended his short term as Bohol PNP superintendent following orders from higher headquarters.
Police Senior Supt. Rodolfo Llorca arrived here last night on board the last trip from Cebu City to assume the post vacated by Col. Obenza.
The turnover ceremony in Cebu City was officiated by PNP Regional Director Lani-O Nerez.
The assumption of Col. Llorca even as a motion for the issuance of a temproary restraining order (TRO) was re-raffled yesterday to RTC Judge Suceso Arcamo.
Arcamo, when interviewed yesterday said "if the turnover was done already, then there is nothing to be restrained."
The assumption of Col. Llorca as the new Bohol PNP chief came despite objection from Gov. Erico Aumentado who wanted Obenza to remain in post due to ongoing operations especially in the monitoring of some armed elements who reportedly arrived in the province to operate for certain candidates in the May polls.
Col. Llorca will report this morning for his first day in office at Camp Dagohoy.
