The Department of Health (DOH) and the Philippine Academy of Medical Specialists (PAMS) will be sending experts here to train local doctors and nurses on advanced cardiac life support next week.
The provincial government, with the cooperation of the PAMS and DOH will sponsor a four-day training from July 26 to July 29 at the Bohol Cultural Center, in line with the forthcoming heart surgical mission.
The activity specifically aims to update local medical practitioners on the latest techniques in life saving emergency cases.
For the activity, the DOH will be sending Dr. Elmer Punzalan, Dr. Edilberto Soriano, and Dr. Ericson Zulueta, while PAMS will be sending Dr. Rene Catan and Dr. Federico Malubay to train the different hospital personnel and facilitate.
Expected participants are 60 doctors, nurses and other health personnel from the different hospitals in the province.
Provincial Health Officer Reymosis Cabagnot is expected to send 40 hospital personnel from devolved hospitals, while Dr. Edgardo Pizarras is expected to send ten personnel from the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH).
Jagna Municipal Health Officer Arnold Cagulada is expected to send eight personnel from municipal health units, while Dr. Elpidio Bonita is expected to send two personnel from the Don Emilio Del Valle Hospital in Ubay. (AV-PGMA)
