A Reminder from Bohol BIR
« on: April 17, 2010, 10:40:10 AM »
By Bohol Chronicle

BIR Bohol RDO Romeo E. Naranjo reiterates to all Boholano taxpayers the nationwide plea of the office of the Bureau of Internal Revenue to file their Income Tax Returns (ITRs) early and pay the corresponding taxes correctly before the deadline on April 15, 2010 to avoid the hassles of last minute filing.

This appeal was earnestly called on to all taxpayers by BIR Commissioner Joel L. Tan-Torres who emphasizes the convenience and hassle free filing of valued taxpayers at the banks and filing centers with early filing habits. Taxpayers are also reminded of the new tax exemptions implemented starting 2008 ITr SUCH AS: P50,000 for every individual income earner married or unmarried whether filing as single or head of family and P25,000 for every legitimate child only not exceeding four for every married couple.

2009 ITR files are urged to take note of the following:
a) those qualified under the "substituted filing" system are those with compensation income only, who have one employer for the calendar year, and the tax due is equal to the tax withheld as reflected on BIR Form 2316 which now will serve as their BIR Form 1700. In this case, there is no need to file BIR Form 1700 nor bring BIR Form 2316 given by the employer to the office of the BIR since the office has been provided with these by the employers themselves;

b) ITRs with required attachments only that bear no payment such as exempt, break even, refundable must be filed at the district office where the taxpayer is registered;
c) Minimum wage earners exempted from the withholding tax need not file except those with other income within the year but are not fixed, who therefore must file using BIR Form 1701;

d) BIR Form 1701 will also be used by professional practitioners and business income earners as well as mixed income earners such as employees with other income;

e) Returns with payments must be filed with the Accredited Agent Banks (AABs or Collection Officers in respective municipalities under the jurisdiction of the district where the taxpayer is registered.

RDO Naranjo is pleased to inform the taxpayers that the Accredited Agent Banks have been requested to be open to taxpayers until 5 o'clock p.m. until April as well as to accept reproduced copies of the BIR forms for convenience to taxpayers.
The BIR call however is not to wait for the deadline. (ERLomantas, BIR-RD84)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
