The Philippines' most loved Mexican star Thalia "Marimar" Sodi is now a mother.
Thalia gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday (October 7).
The newborn, named Sabrina Sakae, was born in New York Sunday morning and weighed 8 pounds and 4 ounces.
Thalia's publicist, Kim Jakwerth, confirmed the childbirth through a press release. Jakwerth said the wife of Tommy Mottola, former chairman and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment, and the newborn are both doing well.
Other details about the childbirth have not been announced.
Thalia endeared herself to many Filipinos through her television series "Marimar." Her other telenovelas "Maria Mercedes" and "Rosalinda" were shown on ABS-CBN.
The actress-singer was hailed as Filipino TV's soap opera queen.
