Shamcey Supsup-Lee, the national director of Miss Universe Philippines Organization, arrives in Bohol on October 28, 2023, to oversee the preparations for the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant. She is welcomed by Governor Arthur Yap, who is also a former Secretary of Agriculture and a former congressman of the third district of Bohol. ¹² Supsup-Lee, who is a Filipino architect, beauty pageant titleholder and pageant organization director, was crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2011 and finished as 3rd Runner-Up at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant in São Paulo, Brazil. ³⁴ She is also the daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez. ⁴ Bohol will host the coronation night of Miss Universe Philippines 2023 on November 13, 2023, at the Panglao Island Nature Resort and Spa. ⁵⁶ The event will feature 38 candidates from different provinces and cities vying for the coveted crown and the chance to represent the Philippines in the upcoming Miss Universe 2023 competition in El Salvador. ⁷⁸ Michelle Dee of Makati, who won the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 crown last May, will crown her successor at the end of the event. ⁷
