Surviving rock fads and quite possibly themselves, Slapshock is out with new album "Kinse Libre" in celebration of 15 years of blistering rock music.
You have to hand it to the men that make up Slapshock for sticking it out with one another for that long. Sure, perhaps lead throat Jamir Garcia, jumping jellybean of a bassist Lee Nadela, guitarist Lean Ansing and skinsman Chi Evora probably hated each others’ guts at one time or another, but it comes with the territory, especially when playing music that just drips with testosterone and natural aggression. Don’t they say familiarity breeds contempt? But to travel this far down the road, and perhaps remain as buddies, is just commendable. Maybe because the music is still getting better; in fact, “Kinse Kalibre†showcases a group that’s still reinvigorated any chance they get to play together.
