Gabby Concepcion Balik Pinas
« on: April 01, 2008, 07:37:50 AM »
MANILA, Philippines - Fresh from his arrival in the country, former matinee idol Gabby Concepcion on Monday morning dropped by the Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) in Manila to take care of an unsettled case involving falsification of public documents.

source from the said court, who refused to be identified because she was not authorized to speak about the case, told GMANews.TV in a phone interview that Concepcion posted a P6,000 bail at the sala of Judge Marlo Malagar of the Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 5 of Manila at about 11:30 a.m.

It was not clear if the case had anything to do with his previous marriages.

"Confidential kasi to both parties ang details ng kaso (The details of the case are confidential to concerned parties)," the source said.

MTC clerk of court Florentina Mercado was not immediately available to comment on the case.

Aside from being the father of KC Concepcion, the 41-year-old movie actor also fathered daughters with Grace Ibuna and Jenny Syquia. He also reportedly married one Jenny Martin and Genevieve Yatco.

Concepcion, erstwhile husband of megastar Sharon Cuneta, reportedly arrived in court accompanied by lawyer Eduardo "Ed" Flaminiano and movie producer Rose Flaminiano of FLT Films.

Ed Flaminiano, who also owns FLT Films, was quoted by the source as saying that the bail was posted in relation to a standing warrant of arrest issued against Concepcion for alleged falsification of public documents.

The source refused to elaborate on Concepcion's case and declined to name the complainant in the case.

While refusing to elaborate on Concepcion's case and declining to identify the complainant, the source assured that the case is not related to the 1994 Metro Manila Film Festival fiasco, where the movie star got embroiled in an alleged rigging of the results.

The source said that the Metropolitan Trial Court scheduled the date of arraignment to April 30, wherein Concepcion will be required to appear in court while the complainant will most likely be issued a subpoena.

Ed Flaminiano on Tuesday last week had filed a motion to admit cash bail that would have allowed the lawyer to post bail on Concepcion's behalf while the actor was out of the country, the source said.

Three days later, on Friday last week, Judge Malagar denied Flaminiano's prayer, reasoning that Concepcion is required to appear before the court before he could be allowed to post bail.

Concepcion arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Centennial Terminal 2 at 3:26 a.m. Sunday on board a Boeing 744 airplane of the Philippine Airlines Flight PR 105 from San Francisco, USA.

The returning movie actor left the Philippines 13 years ago at the height of the MMFF controversy, which saw personalities like Ruffa Gutierrez, talent manager and talk show host Lolit Solis being subjected in public scrutiny. - GMANews.TV
