Acclaimed filmmaker Brillante Mendoza will serve as jury member in the 31st Istanbul
Film Festival.
According to reports, Brillante is the only
Filipino chosen to be part of the jury, which also includes Arabian actress Hiam Abbas, Romanian film director Corneliu Porumboiu, and Turkish
film director Nuri Bilge Ceylan, who will also serve as jury chairman.
Organized by the The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (Ä°KSV), the
two-week-long festival, largely considered as the most important annual
film festival in the city, will run from March 31 until April 15, 2012.
