Many studies have already shown how a positive attitude in life can make a big difference.   Some of them are the following:

    1) Optimistic men have less risks of having heart disease than pessimistic men.

    2) The substances, which your brain creates, partially depend on your feelings, thoughts, and expectations.  If you have a negative attitude about life or any specific thing (such as an illness), your brain will not produce enough of the necessary substances that your body needs to perform well.  Meaning, if you were sick and you view your sickness negatively, your body will not heal.

   3) Pessimists have twice as many infectious diseases than optimists. They also make twice as many doctor visits than the positive thinkers.

   4) Optimists have a stronger immune system than the pessimists do.

Clearly, being a positive thinker has a lot of advantages.  If everyone can start being a little more positive, then the populace of the world can be generally a lot healthier.  However, it is also a reality that, being positive does not come easy.  Fortunately, there are some things that you can do to develop positivism and improve your overall health. If you are interested in learning them, here’s a quick list:

1. Decide to be optimistic– Resolve within you that no matter what happens and despite all the obstacles, you will choose to be optimistic.  Force yourself to always see the brighter side of the story.  There are always two sides of a circumstance.  If the side you’re looking at does not look good, look at the other side.  Although simply deciding will not guarantee 100 percent positivism, it is already half the battle

2. Be more active in improving your life—The math is simple:  if you don’t do anything, you will not get any result.  You’d better take a more active participation in your life and make it better.  Ask yourself what you can do to constantly accomplish things.  How should you treat problems?  Many people don’t succeed because they don’t really exert enough effort in thinking how they can do better.  Sometimes, thinking of a solution may be taxing.  You may even come up with a thousand ideas and most of them would fail.  However, no one can discount the fact that among the many ideas, there can be great combinations that can change your life forever.  Bear in mind that your ideas don’t have to be super-human.  Small improvements can bring about huge results.

Your health is affected by the way you think and view life.  The more positive you are, the healthier you can be.  While life can be pretty challenging at times, there will always be something that you can do to help lift up your burdens.  Remember that everything has an end, including difficult times.  If you learn how to be more optimistic and start actively improving your life, you can definitely get somewhere a lot better—and be a lot healthier.
