Thirsty Cup Football Festival

The Thirsty Cup Football festival lived up to its reputation as the event with the most number of out-of-town entries after attracting 10 other places in the country to join its eight edition starting Friday last week at the Cebu City Sports Center.
         
The out-of-town squad include the tourism island of Bohol, Manila Tacloban, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Siaton and Bayawan in Oriental Negros, Baybay, Leyte and San Carlos City.

Several teams in different divisions are being fielded in the three-day tilt which ends today. A total of 242 teams signed up for the event. No other details were available from Cebu.

The categories being contested are the players 6, 8 and 10 for the mixed categories along the boys and girls 12, 14 and 19 boys 17, ladies and men's open men's 36 and 42 above. - the bohol chronicle
