Writing Fiction - Metaphor Vs Unacceptable Exaggeration - What a Character Can or Can't Experience

It's easy to get caught up in the moment and write with emotion, not realizing that the depiction is not a metaphor and therefore a physical impossibility. In many cases this is minor and can and should be overlooked. But at other times improper analogies can bloat a narrative. This article discusses the distinction between metaphor and gross exaggeration.
