HOLY NAME UNIVERSITY ALUMNI DIAMOND JUBILEE KING & QUEEN GUIDELINES

Rationale: The Holy Name University Alumni Association (HNUAA) – Tagbilaran, Inc., a Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) – registered non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization, has committed itself to pursue a “self-sustaining organization of goal-centered leaders pursuing relevant and responsive programs for the sustainable development of a humane community.”   This vision statement, along with the mission and strategic direction statements, were crafted by the new set of officers and members of the Board of Directors (BOD) who assumed office on June 26, 2007. The new BOD also came up with priority programs namely: alumni welfare, organizational strengthening, outreach, fund sourcing and promotions. At present, the association is solely dependent upon the collection of alumni fees from graduating students every semester to finance its operations. To sustain its programs, the association has to find other means to augment its meager resources. Hence, the Search for the HNU Diamond Jubilee King and Queen was hatched. Precisely for this purpose.

Objectives:
1)   To raise funds to finance the various programs of the HNUAA-Tagbilaran, Inc;
2)   To reach out to as many alumni as possible, thus enhancing the relationship and bonding;
3)   To animate the February 2007 Alumni Hmecoming which also marks HNU’s Diamond Jubilee Celebration

How Can Participate: Any Holy Name College (HNC), Divine Word College of Tagbilaran (DWCT), and Holy Name University alumna / alumna is eligible to join the contest.

How to Join:
1)   A prospective candidate submits duly-accomplished and signed application form. Application form may be requested and submitted via e-mail through: [email protected].

2)   He or she pays a minimum qualifying fee of P5,000.00 which is non-refundable once paid, but will be counted in payees’ favor during the first canvassing. The fee may be paid through:

Deadline for Submission of Requirements: Application Form and minimum qualifying fee must be submitted and paid, respectively on or before November 29, 2007, that is, until 5:30 pm. Both may be handcarried for submission to:

Incentives for Joining:
1)   Participants of the contest will be helping the HNU alumni, through the association, in raising funds for the sustainability of its various programs and projects.
2)   The King and Queen and their Court will reign as ambassadors of goodwill, bringing with them the calues and charisma of Holy Name University.
3)   They will be honored and recognized in formal coronation ceremonies.
4)   They will presented to the Boholano community during the Diamond Jubilee Floral Parade

Sharing Scheme of the Proceeds: Based on the gross proceeds that each candidate will be able to raise after the final canvassing, the following scheme will be implemented:

1) P500,000 and above    - 50%
2) P150,000 and above - 35%
3) P100,000 - P149,000 - 25%
4) P 50,000 – P99,000 - 15%
5) Below P50,000        -  15%

Shares will be distributed not more than two (2) days after the final canvassing.

Important Dates:
1)   First Canvassing - December 15, 2007
2)   Final Canvassing - February 6, 2008 to be held at the HNU Alumni Center from 2:00-5:00 pm
3)   Rehearsals - February 7 – 11, 2008
4)   Coronation Night -.February 11, 2008 – 7:00pm, Lesage Gymnasium,HNU Main Campus
5)   Floral Parade - February 12, 2008
6)   Alumni Homecoming - February 16, 2007

Candidates may send a duly-authorized representative during the First Canvassing. In the Final Canvassing, however, candidates must be physically present.
