News: Two siblings graduated with honors from Ateneo de Manila University, where their parents have been working as janitors.

Rica and her older brother Riel Gutierrez both graduated cum laude from Ateneo.

Elma and Ricky said they endured everything to send their children through school. The couple finished high school and had to work as students.

Rica earned a degree in management economics this year, while Riel finished psychology in 2019. Riel Gutierrez/Facebook
