secondary question, deep.

lazy diay ang mga lalakeng medical students as compared to the female? :P

or over-competitive ra kaajo ang mga female medics sa CIM?

sa ilaha batch rana. the previous batches were ok. CIM is very good with theory, no doubt smart sila but honestly, lack in skills/ labor. ask them questions and then can answer. they learn their skills/ hardwork through clerkship and internship.. i know a lot of CIM na nagresidency then quit lng kalit kay gkapoi or something.

from what I have observed, CIM people are really smart, no doubt but lack in skills/labor/ hard work. they are very good in theory. they have been consistently 100% sa board exams sa phils the past years. but in work, lets just say i know a couple of people from CIM na niquit og residency kay either they cant take the pressure or load of work. but this is just also recently mga bago na batches. some med students man sad gud sa pinas, maCIM ba or whatever school, some kay napugos ra btaw sa ila parents, i guess mao na wla sa ila passion motrabaho. kapoyan na ba. ambot lng

i was really intrigued by what my uncle told me of the mandatory unit in clinical rural medicine. He was sent to a rural village somewhere in Cebu. I think UP Medical School also does the same thing. I have a co-worker (UP grad) who was sent to a village in Tarlac for 3 months to do clinical rural medicine. In a span of 3 months, he said he performed over 200 circumcisions and many more deliveries. I think it is awesome that Phil Med Schools do these things.

bitaw, i see your point, doc. i know some people in my batch who quit during our 1st year because of the exceeding pressure. the thing is that they were doing really good in their exams, but they complained of mental stress. i know of some galing who went through mental breakdowns and had to take a medical leave. there was one student 2 batches before mine who committed suicide bc of the stress. self induced potassium injection.

luoy bitaw ning uban nga ning homan na sa studies, pero ning quit sa residency kai di ka take sa pressure. all that sacrifice...

i really wish american medical schools would implement something like a 'rural medical clerkship'. it would give an eye-opening experience for many.

that is why Pinoy Docs are one of the best. specially phil-med trained. you guys see cases that are never seen here in america. cases such as dengue, megaloblastic anemia, c. dipth, y. pestis etc. text book cases ra ni para namo, pero for pinoy-docs, theyve seen it and treated it.

:)

hahaha! mao sad. the first week i was in bohol this summer 2010, i visited a pharmacy to buy some meds for my grandfather. i overheard the head pharmacist on a drug that the customer in front of me was asking about. na kuratan ko when she was saying, "Isoniazid, Rifampin". Kulirez! Anti-tuberculosis drugs man na. na kuratan jud ko.

ps. i notice one thing in pinas, there are no such thing as doctor's prescription no? people can just buy lisinipril, captopril, hydrochlorothiazide, rifampin, isoniazid, amoxocillin, cephalosporin etc. kuyaw kaayo. lol.

oy, nag OT man sad ko. sorry. :P
