Vergara siblings of Tabalong, Dauis rule

The Vergara siblings of Tabalong, Dauis town romped all the top three awards in the recently concluded Grand Finals of Quest for the Voice- Category A, held last August 11 at the Activity Center of Island City Mall. 

Tom Cesar Vergara, the youngest of the three, took home the grand prize of P5,000.00 cash plus trophy when he was picked by the judges as this years’ Grand Champion. He was followed by his eldest sister Florie Lyn who emerged as First Runner-Up, and received P3,000.00 cash plus trohpy. Second Runner-Up was middle child Floryn Rose who settled for the P2, 000.00 cash prize plus trophy. 

   For Category B, three ladies also win -- Chezl Valmoria with I’m Telling You favored the nods of the judges when she won as this years Grand Champion. Mylene Pedroso who belted out her rendition of Celine Dion’s It’s All Coming Back to Me Now was First Runner-Up, while Cheryl Lopeba who sang I Believe was adjudged as Second Runner-Up. Voters Choice Award goes to Wilfrido Aninipot in Category B and Isabel Garsuta for Category A.         

   Quest for the Voice Year 3 judges were the Dean of Sports & Cultural Activities of CVSCAFT, Lorenzo Sarigumba; Awardee Best Dancer and Best Singer, Ms Conception Pamaong Torero; musical director of One Night of Music Maribojoc Fiesta Celebration, Precillano “King” Echavia; jazz enthusiasts and music critic, Phil Sarmiento; and singer/songwriter of the 20 Something band, Dominique Lofranco.
 
   Meanwhile, after the exhilarating challenges the Stardance finalists have to face prior to the grand announcement on August 12. Margarito Cempron of the UB Dance Troupe finally emerged victorious. Aside from the grand prize of P5, 000.00, Cempron also won the Best in Garter Dance Challenge and the Best in Own Props Challenge. Juvie Tongco of T-mates was chosen as First Runner-Up and win P3, 000.00. He also won the Best in Dancing Pole challenge. Earl Bryan Olid of the Soul Jammers grabbed the second place with P2,000.00. The three winners likewise received trophies aside from their cash prizes.
