Danao Bohol will now have a tombstone placed in the heart of the adventure spot known as EAT Danao Adventure Park.
Sponsorship of the Dagohoy Commemorative Tombstone and the organization for this coming Aprils event includes the following; HABAGAT which mean southwest wind, which is a wind that most fishermen will not be known to adventure out in and are afraid of it due to its strong gusts, the Bohol Outdoor Adventure Team including it’s close to 30 member’s and the Outdoor Adventure Store Mexican Food Cafe owned by one of its members Erwin Budlong “Buzzy” located in Bohol. The organization and business support behind the purchase of the tombstone originated with the ideal of placing a commemorative stone for the Spanish war heroes who died during the 1744-1829 war against the Spanish Rule.
Last year in Danao a cycling activity had taken place known by Visaya adventurist as the Visaya’s Mountain Festival the activity passed through and into Danao and the one night  when the visiting outdoorsmen groups  sat around drinking beer while sharing friendship with the Towns mayor Thomas Gonzaga a concern was brought up by the adventure participants when the discussion of Dagohoy dead war heroes had come up in their conversation, the group asked why is it that there lays no commemorative marker or some sort of plaque or even a tombstone to give some sort of indication that there should be peace, rest and respect for the final resting place of Dahohoy’s dead war heroes and to that this is the place where some of the war heroes remain from their final stand.
The municipal of Danao over time has been gathering and safe keeping the bones from its adventure caves and are keeping them inside of their adventure museum to keep people from eluding them from the caves where they are found. As explained by Buzzy during the interview for this write up that in the past the caves were being eluded so Danao now keeps a close tight  protective watch on everything when it comes to caring and preserving its heroes.
The tombstone reads;
“For 85 long years Danao Cradled the Longest Revolution, (1744-1829) Adainst Spanish Rule. Freedom Fighter Francisco Dahohoy and patriotic Boholanos Lived as Free and Sovereign People during the 85 year stance.”
“They did not render forced labor nor pay tribute. They suffered neither racial discrimination nor social humiliation from the hands of the Spaniards. Here lies some of those patriots who chose to die as a freemen.”
“Sa Lahat NG MGA INDO, AND MGA TAGA-BOHOL ANG PINAKA=MABANGIS AT PINAKA-MAGITING…”
